"STRESS IS THE CULPRIT"

If you undergo any physical changes due to stress, improper diet, trauma, or lack of sleep, your body systems may get imbalanced. Acupuncture can help restore balance by accessing your nervous system and brain waves. It brings them back into harmony, allowing your body to function correctly and heal independently. When a patient receives acupuncture, the body releases pain-relieving chemicals called endogenous (inside the body) opiates and corticosteroids, relieving pain, calming the mind (stress relief) and expediting the healing process.

Acupuncture improves blood circulation to the area of concern and decreases inflammation (Zhang et al., 2014).

electroacupuncture medicine-futuristic medicine

This is a field of potential diagnostic and treatment techniques which uses acupuncture and electricity to modulate, enhance, or trigger the human body to produce and secrete medicinal molecules or to regulate physiology.

The earth is a high reservoir of electrons.  Electrons may be considered antioxidant links which in turn neutralizes harmful potential damaging effect of free radicals.  By touching the earth, electrons flow into the body and it is referred to as GROUNDING.  These electrons flow into each cell which is like a tiny battery.

Traditional Chinese Medicine calls energy Qi (chi) which is moved around the body to keep it running smoothly and healthy.  Imbalances of this Qi is the cause of "DIS-EASE".

EAM sends electrons stimulated by electricity to the body to get the Qi back in balance. The Nervous System is an electrical system. EAM affects the nervous system to function as a gland and secrete neurochemicals, hormones and peptides to modulate neurology, endocrine system, immunology and all systems of the body. It releases: Endorphins the feel hormone-peptide,  Serotonin a neurotransmitter to help with mood balance, Cortisol a hormone which is anti-inflammatory, and norepinephrine a chemical to help with vascular circulation. The goal is to get the body BACK IN BALANCE.

This system is precise so LESS NEEDLES are required!

Dr. Davis of the Healing Arts Center will use the Acugraph examination to produce a chart for you to see where the Qi is blocked or imbalanced. Various natural therapies such as EAM, Acupuncture, herbs, and diet changes can be used to correct these imbalances

IBS

IBS is a complex disorder in which the intestines lose their ability to move their contents. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, headaches, fatigue, depression, anxiety, bloating, diarrhea &/or constipation. Triggers may be stress, diet, emotional factors, hormone levels and drugs. Symptoms and triggers are imbalances.

The body according to Chinese medicine is a garden that should be cultivated and maintained to grow well and remain healthy. This occurs when all the organ and meridian systems are working together and balance. When balanced, the body produces the correct quality and quantity of Qi (chi) energy, which is vital to support health.

Western medicine looks at the body as a machine, where each organ is separate from the other and worn-out parts are replaced and broken parts patched up.

The spleen in TCM oversees digestion and assimilation of food and liquid. The spleen is like a garden that needs to be properly nourished and cared for to produce a healthy, robust harvest. This harvest is called Qi and is the energy that powers the body and delivers nutrients to nourish your organs, cells, and tissues.

fibromyalgia.jpg

03

fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is the 2nd most common rheumatic disorder in the U.S. behind arthritis according to the American College of Rheumatology.

People may suffer from problems including fatigue, pain, stiffness, pain, muscle aches, muscle tenderness, sleep disorders, and intestinal and bowel troubles.

Western medicine diagnosis is confirmed when 11 out of 18 specific points on the body are tender to pressure. Interestingly, some of these tender points closely correspond to the location of ancient acupuncture points.

According to theories of TCM, an imbalance to the flow of Qi (chi) and blood can lead to symptoms. Qi is the energy or power that supports the functions of the body. It flows through specific pathways, called meridians, and provides nourishment for every cell, tissue, muscle, and organ system in the body.

When Qi is abundant and freely circulating throughout the bode, there is health and pain-free living. When Qi is blocked or the supply is inadequate, then pain, stiffness and other symptoms related to fibromyalgia appear. These symptoms can appear due to the unbalanced flow of Qi and resulting disharmony of the organs.

04

menopause

Chinese medicine understands there is an imbalance in the body. These imbalances, left unchecked, can result in the symptoms and signs Western medicine diagnoses as menopause.

Estrogen is similar to what acupuncturists call JING. Jing is a gift given to all of us at the time of conception by our parents. It is our battery that provides us with the basic energy to power all our life functions. When Jing is plentiful, our ability to adapt to disease, illness, and change is optimal. With age, we slowly drain Jing energy from our battery. When Jing declines, our bodies become imbalanced and various symptoms and signs occur graying hair, loss of libido, backache, and fatigue.

Another cause is the slowing of Yin. Yin is the cooling system of the body. When it declines the heat systems will arise, leading to hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, heart palpitations and insomnia.

Sometimes instead of Yin slowing, Yang energy declines. Yang represents the warming of the body. When Yang is unbalance, symptoms may include water retention, weight gain, edema, indigestion, hypertension, or cholesterol levels.

back pain 2.jpg

pain joint 2.jpg

pain syndromes

Back, Neck, Joint pain may be caused by strained muscles or ligaments, often caused by improper lifting, sudden movements or traumatic injury. Other causes can include arthritis, structural abnormalities of the spine, or the discs bulging or rupturing inflaming the surrounding nerves.

Qi (pronounced “chee”), or vital energy, flows through the body in channels called meridians. If Qi becomes stagnant, unbalanced or deficient, symptoms such as back pain, ache and inflammation can result. This can happen for any number of reasons, from injury and illness to stress or external invaders such as wind or dampness. Back pain can arise from disharmonies.

Headache/Migraine
Acupuncturists understand and address the root cause(s) of your headaches.
Understanding headache types and causes which may include body constitution, emotional health, excessive work, social and exercise activities, improper diet, physical trauma and hormones. Headaches can also be diagnosed according to specific symptoms, times of occurrence, location on the body, type of pain, triggers and remedies which provide relief.

Muscle Pain, Ligament Sprain, Plantar Fasciitis, Like the old song said "Hands, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" - JOINT pain.

Acupuncture a more natural approach, works to relieve your symptoms, but will also work to find and treat the underlying cause of your pain. In a study conducted at a Swedish hospital, doctors concluded that acupuncture provided long-term relief along with improvements in physical activity levels, quality of sleep and the diminished use of pain medication.

When a patient receives acupuncture, the body releases pain-relieving chemicals called endogenous opiates and corticosteroids, relieving pain, and expediting the healing process. Acupuncture improves blood circulation to the area of concern and decreases inflammation (Zhang et al., 2014).

smoking cessation

Our programs work with more than just cigarette smoking. They include: vaping, chewing tobacco, cigars, replacement products, and other nicotine delivery systems. Worried about stress and weight gain? HAC offers enhancement for both stress and weight gain, as well as complete programs specially designed for them.

Acupuncture helps detoxify the body, restore the balance in your constitution and jumpstart the healing process.

A successful program requires proper case management which includes patient preparation, patient commitment, and education of what acupuncture will and will not do.

Acupuncture helps the body release a slew of chemical to encourage recovery and repair and as a bonus instead of side effects, acupuncture produces side benefits, like improvements in sleep and mood and the following:

  • reduced cravings: acupuncture slows down the stress response,  which can help curb your cravings for nicotine, especially in the earliest stages of withdrawal when you are also battling fatigue and irritability. Instead of smoking, your body learns to rest, relax and breathe deeply.

  • releases feel-good hormones: studies show acupuncture trigger the brain to pump out feel-good chemicals called endorphins that can help stabilize your mood and lessen irritability.

  • Enhancing overall health and well-being: when you start        eliminating unhealthy habits, you feel physically better. And when you feel better, you may feel empowered.

Sessions are usually 30 minutes 2x a week until you notice a difference in cravings and overall health.  The number of treatment required to help you quit smoking depends on a variety of factors taken in the history.

So, you will never run out of reasons to quit smoking. The statutory warning on cigarette packets should never be taken be lightly.

chiropractic

A chiropractic adjustment is a spinal manipulation or joint manipulation administered by a chiropractor (spinal specialist) to realign or restore proper joint motion in the body, most commonly in the spine.

We adjust the classical manual way or utilize the Arthrostim and/or Activator instruments. This controlled force or thrust is applied to the misaligned or stuck vertebra to improve spinal motion, joint alignment, and to decrease nerve irritation and associated pain.

Spinal misalignment can be caused by a number of factors, including: injury such as from a car accident or fall; muscle contractions from chronic tension that pull your joints out of alignment; poor posture (either while awake or while sleeping); and repetitive motions.

When the spine is misaligned or stuck, this can create inflammation and irritate spinal nerves, causing pain and other problems. Chiropractic adjustments or spinal manipulation are a chiropractic treatment used to correct spinal misalignments.

This restores spinal motion and function to the restricted joint, decreasing localized inflammation and nerve irritation, decreasing pain and associated local muscle spasm.

08

sport injury/performance

Acupuncture for Optimal Sports Performance
Whether you are a professional athlete or enjoy a recreational sport, acupuncture nurtures the body for optimal endurance and stamina (Liu & Liu, 2013). Acupuncture helps remove the lactic acid build-up in the muscle tissue post-workout. It also improves your overall maximum heart rate and oxygen consumption (Bailey, 2021).

Acupuncture for Performance Anxiety & Cognitive Function
Acupuncture taps into the nervous system igniting the parasympathetic branch to calm the mind and body. Studies have found acupuncture to soothe performance anxiety and improve cognitive function in athletes before playing.

Injury Prevention

Regular Acupuncture and/or Chiropractic treatments release taut muscles, which prevents further injury to an agitated area. Acupuncturists assess the entire body to locate areas of tightness and discomfort that the patient may not be conscious of. These can be associated with misaligned posture, chronic overuse, inadequate exercise form, or muscle imbalances. By releasing those areas before there is pain, muscles remain flexible and hydrated for injury prevention and immediate recovery (Shah et al., 2015).

Injury

The body has a natural response to heal whenever an area is injured. Acupuncture expedites pain relief and stimulates and expedites the repair phase of an injury. When pain-relieving natural chemicals are released in the body (endorphin and serotonin), the obstructed pathways are opened, allowing healing to occur at a cellular level. Acupuncture also stimulates “microcirculation,” which reduces swelling, inflammation, and pain while promoting tissue repair (Zhang et al., 2014).

Asthma The mortality rate of asthma is 1.6 to 36.7 / 100,000 people, and China has become one of the countries with the highest asthma death rate in the world. Asthma is a chronic allergic airway inflammatory disease. Patients with this disease may have symptoms such as cough, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. For many years, Western medicine has mainly used anti-inflammatory, anti-bronchial spasm and cough medications and oxygen to treat this disease, but the effect is not good. Clinical studies in recent years have found that the use of acupuncture in the treatment of bronchial asthma has a good clinical application prospect.

According to the literature, acupuncture can enhance the immune system function thus play a role in relieving phlegm.[21] According to a number of clinical practices, acupuncture therapy has a considerable effect, has a high technical content, can inhibit allergic reactions, activate its defense system function, and the patient's bronchial smooth muscle tone is reduced, and finally achieve anti-asthmatic purpose.[22]     [21] Chu KA, Wu YC, Ting YM, et al. Acupuncture therapy results in immediate bronchodilating effect in asthma patients. J Chin Med Assoc 2007;70:265–8.    [22] Davis PA, Chang C, Hackman RM, et al. Acupuncture in the treatment of asthma: a critical review. Allergol Immunopathol 1998;26:263–71.

Allergies

James T C Li, M.D., Ph.D., a Mayo Clinic allergy specialist, answers questions about the link between allergies and asthma.

An allergic response occurs when immune system proteins (antibodies) mistakenly identify a harmless substance, such as tree pollen, as an invader. In an attempt to protect your body from the substance, antibodies bind to the allergen.

The chemicals released by your immune system lead to allergy signs and symptoms, such as nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy eyes or skin reactions. For some people, this same reaction also affects the lungs and airways, leading to asthma symptoms.

Most treatments are designed to treat either asthma or allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis is inflammation of the mucus membranes in your nose in response to allergens, which can cause a range of sinus-related issues, including: congestion, runny nose, headache pressure in your face, around your sinuses, postnasal drip. With Acupuncture the imbalance of the immune response are addressed and then balance the body to react in a balanced way.

Sinuses

Acupuncture helps with a range of sinus issues, including sinusitis (inflammation), headaches, pressure, pain, and nasal congestion.

Qi is believed to help keep your body in balance and promote its natural ability to heal itself. A blocked or disrupted flow of qi can negatively impact physical and emotional well-being.

10

immunity

In addition to the analgesic (pain relief) effect of acupuncture, studies have shown it can control autonomic nerve system functions such as blood pressure regulation, sphincter of Oddi relaxation, and immune modulation.

Electroacupuncture (EA) is a modified technique of acupuncture that utilizes electrical stimulation. A increasing number of clinical studies have indicated that acupuncture or EA stimulation (EAM) is effective for the management and treatment of immune-related diseases, including allergic disorders, infections, autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiency-syndromes (Arranz et al., 2007, Biernacki and Peake, 1998; Joo et al., 2000, Lee et al., 2008, Ye et al., 2002).

Neural-immune interactions activated by acupuncture
It is widely accepted that acupuncture or EA (EAM) facilitates the release of certain neurotransmitters, especially opioids, in the CNS and activates either of sympathetic or parasympathetic nervous systems, which elicits profound psychophysical responses including potent analgesia, regulation of visceral functions and immune modulation (Han, 1987, Han, 2003, Filshie and White, 1998, Lundeberg et al., 1991, Mori et al., 2002, Sato et al., 2002).

pediatrics

Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, and Chiropractic are not just for adults, they are excellent treatment options for children too.

Children have extraordinary healing abilities, and their bodies can recover faster than adults. Kids' bodies have incredible blood circulation and are receptive to energy, so they respond quickly to Acupuncture treatments, helping their bodies become more balanced with each session. By prioritizing preventive care and wellness, children can avoid chronic conditions later in life, and parents can have less stress knowing their child's systems are functioning optimally.

Age Groups:

Gentle and non-invasive (needle-free) techniques are utilized for newborns to Age 17. Teens may feel more comfortable laying with acupuncture needles if they choose, but it is always up to the child.

Need to Lay Still for Acupuncture:

Many kids play or draw while the treatment is happening, and older kids and teens may lie quietly for 15-20 minutes if they choose. Alternatives are used depending on the child, nothing is ever forced because there are so many alternatives such as ear seeds, pressure points, Acupoint handheld piezo electric impulse or handheld laser.  These treatment types allow a quick and easy delivery system for children of all ages.

Modern Qi Principles/"Limitless Healing"

Electricity has been studied from the 1800's to now by such people as Nikola Tesla.  Others expanded the information to study the effect of electricity on the body and Dis-Ease to include Bjorn Nordenstrom, MD, Royal Rife, and Bob Beck (physicist).

Acupuncture is commonly referred to as a therapy. The Modern Qi Principle using EAM is a treatment method to stimulate the body to heal itself.  EAM utilizes electric energy and the channel system of Chinese Medicine to move this electric energy or E-Qi to every cell of the body.  Cells get a jump start to rejuvenate and rebuild a healthy cell and to function properly.

Skeletal muscle is like a battery and functions to store and release Qi to the cells by a piezoelectric impulse reaching the "powerhouse of the cell - mitochondria" to produce ATP (energy of the cell).

Connective tissues like (fascia) surrounding a muscle cell, the covering of a nerve cell (not the nerve itself because that is another system - Nervous System), Blood/fluids, the fibrous coverings of the arteries and veins, are the most conductive tissues. These serve as a pathway for beneficial Qi to flow/travel through the channels to affect the tissues of the body. So, the vascular system and immune system are providers of Qi.

Sometimes a channel can leak energy, so we find those leaks and fix them, so the channel does not lose its charge.

In summary, for Limitless Healing to occur we need:

  • E-Qi for the body to heal and rebuild

  • Gu-Qi is needed to produce the building blocks needed by the body to heal and rebuild.  These building blocks come from food, Vitamins, Minerals, healthy living and clear mind.

Remember:

  • DIS-EASE comes from a Qi deficiency/E-Qi

  • We need Qi to fight DIS-EASE

  • We need Qi to rebuild our bodies

  • Chronic DIS-EASE occurs when cells fail to regenerate and fail to function properly
